Alton Concert Orchestra brought classical music to Whitehill & Bordon, on Saturday 8th July, at Phoenix Arts and Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Companies A Night At The Proms: Summer Serenade.
The event took place within The Town Park and featured live music from Alton Concert Orchestra and a free workshop from SoCo Music Project where everyone could make their own instrument out of vegetables and become a member of the Vegetable Orchestra!
A Night At The Proms doors opened at 6:00 PM, allowing people to set deck chairs or their picnic blankets for a great view of the orchestra, but they could also get involved with SoCo Music Project until the concert's start. Just before 7:30 PM the Town Mayor, Leeroy Scott, came and declared A Night At The Proms open and Alton Concert Orchestra blew us away with their gorgeous live music featuring songs from Mission Impossible, Grease, and the classic proms favourites Land Of Hope and Glory and God Save The King!
The atmosphere created by all in attendance was electric, and you could see the passion flowing out of the orchestra members with every note they played of every piece.
