Phoenix Arts, the dynamic arts organisation at the heart of Whitehill & Bordon’s arts scene, is thrilled to announce the awarding of £498,888.59 in s106 funding from East Hampshire District Council. This monumental achievement marks a significant milestone in Phoenix Arts’ journey to becoming the leading arts provider in East Hampshire and taking the town’s cultural landscape to new heights!
Amidst the vibrant regeneration sweeping through Whitehill & Bordon, Phoenix Arts has continuously evolved alongside the former army town’s redevelopment. Now, with this award of East Hampshire District Council’s s106 Funding, Phoenix Arts is set to unleash a creative and operational wave of developments that will elevate their presence within the town and broaden their cultural influence across Hampshire.
The substantial funding secured by Phoenix Arts will be channelled into a dynamic array of enhancements, including vital refurbishments to The Phoenix Theatre & Arts Centre, making it a shining beacon of accessibility and inclusivity for all. Prepare to witness a welcoming, eye-catching new frontage, thoughtfully designed with the addition of a ramp to grant easy access for all. Step inside and use the internal, accessible lift to whisk patrons to the second floor, ensuring that the full outreach of Phoenix Arts is within reach of everyone.
That’s not all - Phoenix Arts is committed to being at the forefront of environmental responsibility. With the introduction of solar panels, they will take a bold step towards reducing their carbon footprint and becoming an even greener arts organisation. The positive impact on the environment will resonate far beyond the walls of the theatre, as Phoenix Arts sets a shining example for other organisations to follow.
“With this s106 funding I promise to ensure this wonderful, historic building is safe for the generations to come and is a cultural landmark for all”
